It looks like the Mariners still want to give him the extension. Is the injury risk worth the potential reward of a healthy, dominant Felix? Is the plan on track for Jack Zduirencik and the Mariners? A lot is riding on the young players who have been hit or miss to this point. Is Jack Z stronger at evaluating young talent or making trades at the big league level? Jason Churchill of Prospect Insider says the Mariners are handling the Felix situation just as they should, very carefully. Pitchers are very volatile and a healthy pitcher can tweak an elbow or shoulder at any time.
