The Nightwatch with Colin and Tom

July 30, 2013 - Hour: 1

Originally aired: Tuesday, July 30, 2013

Percy Harvin needs surgery on his hip and the Seahawks will be without him for the first 3-4 months of the season (which puts him at a November return at the earliest). Tom says not having Harvin will leave a lot of "what ifs" when games start. All three believe the Seahawks are a playoff team with or without Harvin. 710 ESPN Seattle's own Danny O'Neil weighs in on the Harvin injury. He says the mood at training camp was pretty down today so it was a little obvious something like this was going to be announced. Danny says the impact of this will be felt down the road as opposed to early in the season. Colin says of all the positions to lose a player, a wide receiver is the one that hurts the least because of the depth, even if he is expected to play at a Pro Bowl level. Tom compares this to not getting paid for a couple months even though you've been working.
