Ichiro got his 4,000th career hit (between Japan and majors) tonight with the Yankees. Tom argues that he would've liked to see him do that wearing a Mariners uniform, even though he agrees that he should've been traded last season. Colin says because he wasn't going to be a part of the Mariners future, so it was the time to move him last season and holding onto him just to break records isn't a reason to keep him.
Colin proposed to his girlfriend and the guys HAVE TO give him a hard time about how it went. She did say yes. Tom said he needed to brag about himself and Colin admits playing it too cool almost cost them a surprise from friends at dinner.
Back to the Ichiro conversation, a caller insists the language barrier is what caused fans to sour of Ichiro and believe he was a selfish player who was "on an island". Felix Hernandez on the other hand, while he doesn't speak great English at least tries to conduct interviews and interacts with fans, making him more beloved to the fan base.
