Seattle's Purple Bearded Bubbleman Has Been Blowing Bubbles for 33 Years
Seattle's Gary Golightly, AKA The Bubbleman, has been doing bubble shows in 45 countries for the past 33 years. He uses found and thrifted items, like flyswatters and plastic six pack rings, to make huge bubbles that kids go crazy for.

A Washington State Woman Has Vowed to Eat Pet Food For a Whole Month
Dorothy Hunter, CEO of Paws Natural Pet Emporium in Richland and Kennewick, Washington, is eating almost nothing but dog and cat foods for an entire month. She wants to spread the message that people should read labels, and only feed their pets foods that they would eat themselves. She is only eating natural, sometimes organic, USDA approved pet foods.

A Local Singer's New Book Teaches Kids About Life in a Wheelchair
Nashville-based, Tacoma native, Faith Ecklund broke her neck in a car accident when she was 16 and has been in a wheelchair ever since. Her new book, "Our Friends in Chairs With Wheels," wants to erase that stigma that people in wheelchairs are strange just because they're a little different.

Book Cafe is a Library-On-Wheels For Snohomish Kids on Summer Vacation
Snohomish teacher and librarian, Jenny Granger, wanted to find a way to keep kids reading over the summer break, to keep kids reading at grade level. So she created Book Cafe, a little yellow school bus that stops at Snohomish trailer parks and community centers, and welcomes kids to come inside and pick out books.

A Kent Woman, by way of Senegal, Fights for Her Right to Braid Hair
Salamata Sylla earns a living braiding hair in the Senegalese style. But when the Department of License told her she needed to get a cosmetology license, she knew she didn't have to. She has filed a federal lawsuit to protect braiders across the state. I visited her at her Kent shop to learn more about the cultural tradition of braiding.
