  • Man seeks $500K from Seattle police in pepper spray incident
    Jesse Hagopian, a Seattle teacher and activist, has filed a $500,000 claim against the Seattle Police Department and the City of Seattle after he was pepper sprayed during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day demonstration. A video released by Hagopian's attorney, James Bible, shows him being sprayed by a Seattle police officer as he is talking on his phone. Hagopian spoke about the incident at a press conference on Wednesday.

  • Still 'a lot of work to do' in downtown Seattle
    Following a shooting near Third Avenue and Pine Street in downtown Seattle that left two injured, KIRO Radio's Brandi Kruse took a walk to the scene with the president of the Downtown Seattle Association, Jon Scholes. Scholes said the city has come a long way in combating crime and improving the quality of life along the Pike-Pine Street corridor, but thinks there’s still “a lot of work to do.”

    Filling in for Colleen O'Brien on Seattle's Morning News with Dave Ross, KIRO Radio's Brandi Kruse explained that her brother is giving her a hard time because she was raised a Minnesota Vikings fan, but recently started cheering for the Seattle Seahawks. Brandi sought the opinion of fellow KIRO Raido personalities to find out if being a bandwagon fan is really as bad as her brother makes it seem.
