Over the weekend a jury in Florida delivered its verdict in the so called "loud music" case – the latest case to test the state’s self defense law. As in the Trayvon Martin case it involved the fatal shooting of an unarmed 17 year old teenager – except this time the jury actually convicted the shooter, Michael Dunn. And he’ll go to jail for a long time.

The battle of the pink mustache
Cars with pink mustaches (or car-staches) are the emblem of Lyft – a Ride-Share service that like Sidecar and Uber uses smart phone apps to link ordinary people driving cars with people needing rides. The computer sets the price, payment is electronic, there’s no tipping, and service is not only fast and friendly – but WAY cheaper than a cab.
