Seahawks place Siavii on injured reserve
By Liz Mathews
The Seahawks have placed defensive end Junior Siavii on Injured Reserve this afternoon, ending his season.
The team has signed LB Joe Pawelek from the Practice Squad to fill Siavii's spot on the active roster. Pawelek had originally been signed to the Practice Squad on September 6.
Siavii, 32, suffered a neck stinger in last week's loss to Atlanta. He had undergone MRIs following the game to determine the extent of the injury. It was initially thought that Siavii might be able to return to practice after a couple of weeks.
Siavii started in six of 14 games with the Seahawks this season and logged a career-high 30 tackles, 24 of which were solo.
Siavii is the second player to be placed on the Injured Reserve this week, following CB Roy Lewis (knee) on Monday.
The team now has 13 players listed on the Injured Reserve.
