  • April 14, 2015 - Hour: 2
    John Clayton gives us the latest from around NFL and with the time it's taking to reach a verdict in the Aaron Hernandez trial, it leads him to believe it will be a hung jury. Also Michael Crabtree is a now an Oakland Raider. The Mariner 'Franchise Four' has touched off a bit of debate as most agree that Ken Griffey Jr., Edgar Martinez and Felix Hernandez are in, but the final spot seems to leave a debate between Ichiro and Randy Johnson. Danny is adamant that Ichiro wins out. In "Sweeping the Dial" the guys talk about Crabtree to Oakland, the infamous video of an Oregon steeplechase runner prematurely celebrating, and Nic Stauskas of the Kings gets his house 'popcorned'.

    The Mariners played extra innings for the third straight game, this time dropping the game to the Dodgers (after having a 4-0 lead). Is pitching becoming a problem? In "Sweeping the Dial" the guys discuss the outrageous goings on in the Aaron Hernandez trial, William Gholston paying someone back, and Barry Bonds wanting to celebrate A-Rod.

Plus the Seahawks are vacationing in Hawaii and welcoming Jimmy Graham, and Fernando Rodney's stats are worse (albeit slightly) in non-save situations.

    John Clayton discusses the futures of Seahawks running backs Robert Turbin and Christine Michael, who are both entering pivotal seasons in 2015. We talk to Shannon Drayer briefly as perhaps she will have to apologize much like Bert Blyleven for saying Oakland's ballpark is 'the jewel of baseball'. Also, what is this show like without Jim? In "Sweeping the Dial" the guys discuss Jordan Speith's rise in golfing, Adrian Beltre's likability, and Troy Polamalu retires.

    Last night's game did harken back to season's past with the Mariners falling short during a rally. But there are definitely some positives like Carson Smith and homers from Seager and Miller. Plus Iwakuma bounced back after a rough first 2 innings. Callers weigh in on their thoughts following the opening series. Also, a visit with 'Annoyed Lloyd'. In "Audibles!" we find out what was a punishment as a kid is more of a reward as an adult.

How much importance should we be placing on the 'rubber match' between the Mariners and Angels tonight? Plus, offense is down across MLB and Commissioner Manfred addressed that at Safeco tonight. In "Audibles!" we learn where it's acceptable to take a first date.

    John Clayton discusses how the Seahawks define what general manager John Schneider calls their "core" players. Doug Baldwin was at the Mariners game last night and received a nice ovation, when shown on screen. Are we the only ones tired of his schtick, not the fans? In "Sweeping the Dial" the talks discuss Adrian Beltre and pace of play rules, Chicago postponing a game because of a forecast (no actual rain), and the NBA will have players vote for MVP.
