So This Also Happened...

Another Friday, another heart attack cloaked in some ridiculous "eating" contest that we cooked up. Tune in to Friday's show for audio of the actual event plus a post-mortum that leaves us all feeling queasy.

The Gloria Darlings

Gloria Darlings

Pandi and Milly of The Gloria Darlings stopped by Burbank Studios this afternoon to sing a couple of songs and let us in on some bluegrass secrets. Pandi explained what not to do if we ever find ourselves in an impromptu jam session. And Milly told us about the time she pretended to be a teenager and snuck into a high school for a day. If you didn’t get a chance to stream the show live, make sure the check out the podcast.

Song Of The Summer Update: Polish Invasion?

SOTSpic

Things are hopping over at Song Of The Summer Central. At last count, we’ve received just under a gazillion submissions, and I’ve fallen in love with almost all of them (yes, even yours, Jeff.)

If you think any of the songs we’ve discussed will be (or should be) the Song Of The Summer, hit us up at tbtlmusic[at]gmail[dot]com . If you’d like to submit a new song, send us a youtube link or (best yet!) attach an MP3. I promise we'll use it responsibly.

Here are some of the songs we’ve talked about on the show lately. Am I the only one ready for The Polish Invasion?

-Andrew

Okay, we didn't actually talk about this next one on the show, and -- truth be told, I don't know about the song's SOTS potential. But damn it, this video is good. Thanks for sending it, Linda.

So This Happened On Friday...

Picture1

Picture2

As you may have heard, we got together at Burbank Kitchens on Friday to slather a slice of pizza in the hottest hot sauce known to man, spin the pie, and see who was lucky and who was dead. Tune in today for an update on how our digestive tracts faired over the weekend.

Song of the Summer: A Few Early Submissions

recordplayer

Hey, Kids! In case you haven't heard (and I can't imagine that), the fourth annual TBTL Song of the Summer extravaganza is underway.

What song do you think (or hope) will be blasting out of every car window and boom box this summer? What song are you going to annoy your neighbors with?

Right now, there is probably a jam that got stuck in your brain a few weeks ago, and now every time you hear it, you think to yourself, "Damn, this is going to be a good summer." You should send us that song.

Email us your submissions for the Song of the Summer at tbtlmusic [at] gmail [dotcom] . If possible, send us an MP3 of the song. If not, just send a link to a YouTube video or something like that.

We've received a few submissions already, but so far, no specific song is beating any others, vote-wise. Here are a few selections, picked mostly at random. If you think one of these songs will be (or should be) the Song of the Summer, email us to let us know you second that emotion.

Brittany suggests "Ho Hey" by The Lumineers:

Zackary likes "Little Talks" by Of Monsters And Men:

And our first Katy Perry submission comes from Jake:

Now it's your turn. Send us your submissions or throw your support behind one of these songs by sending us an email at tbtlmusic [at] gmail [dotcom].

See you at the beach.
