Smith Tower celebrates its 100th anniversary

It was one of the world’s first skyscrapers and it was the tallest building on the West Coast until the Space Needle was built. This July 4th, Smith Tower is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

The centennial is being celebrated in several ways, including a 25-cent admission over Independence Day weekend, the same amount that was charged on its opening day in 1914.

In honor of the historic occasion we take a look back at the iconic Pioneer Square landmark.
