NFL teams play exhibition games in Seattle, 1955 to 1975

Before the Seahawks played their first game in Seattle in 1976, the NFL was here as early as 1955, when the San Francisco 49ers lost 28-17 to the New York Giants with 49,000 fans looking on from the stands at what's now Husky Stadium. All told, there were about a dozen NFL exhibition games played here between 1955 and 1975, back in the years when the Huskies were the only big local football team. For the last non-Seahawks exhibition game back in 1975, the Cleveland Browns defeated the New York Giants 24-20 before fewer than 20,000 fans.
