It's been a terrifying weekend around the world. Most of the time let's face it Americans pay about as much attention to foreign problems that do not involved the United States directly as we do to the Emmy's - a bit of a joke there that nobody cares about the Emmy's. But there's lessons we shouldn't be missing.

President Obama will address the nation tonight . . . about what he doesn't seem to know . He's relatively sure what he wants to do has historic meaning, that he's standing up for values the civilized world should hold dear (we tend to frown on the purposeful slaughter of innocents by tyrants), but he's woefully unsure about what exactly it is he should do.

I don't know why this year-old video was linked to a story I clicked on this morning, but I gave in to the tease "what made Dusin Hoffman cry" and gave it a viewing. Fortunately, I hadn't had breakfast yet.
Hoffman tells of how he wanted to look "beautiful" as the character "Tootsie" and when he realized that there was no getting that character prettier, it dawned on him that sexually unattractive people need love to.

I had the pleasure of speaking with self-made millionaire, independent film creator, winning race-car driver, prolific comedian, and best-selling author Adam Carolla. Knowing he hates radio interviews, I've avoided asking him on, but producer Nicole knows I've really wanted to speak with him, so she set it up. It was like sitting at the lunch table with the popular kids and hoping they'd like you.
