So Maybe It's Not Such A Bad Thing That Our Baseball Team Is Awful

At least we get less of this, um, enthusiasm.

Despite this gal's questionable judgement (splits? really?) I must say I am rooting for the Phillies. Mostly out of respect for my grandpa Jack Kelly who was a diehard Phils fan and went to just about every game he could (sitting through double-headers in the nosebleeds), suffered through decades of futility only to drop dead right before they finally won the 1980 World Series. So let's hope they win one for my dearly departed Gramps.

Oh, and also because the Yankees are literally the embodiment of all that is evil and wrong with the world.

Episode # 424 Open Thread: Robert Pattinson = Fugly Times?

robert-pattinson

On today's show, revelations that the 'Twilight' producers didn't think Robert Pattenson was hot enough to be in the movie, Luke TOTALLY CALLED IT about Andre Agassi's secret baldness, and finally, a decent reason to go to Harvard, they're teaching a class on 'The Wire'.

Move Over Run DMC!

There's a new star on the rap scene. His name is Bangs, he's from Sudan (I think, because there's a point where it's highlighted behind him) and he's interested in taking you to the movies. shorty.

Here's the messed up part, I've now listened to this song about 8 times, and it's actually, genuinely starting to grow on me.

photo

On today's show: John Hodgman on his fist fight with Jason Schwartzman and why his answer to profuse sweating was to start wearing a down vest under his suit jacket, plus Jen finally leaves the world's sketchiest camp ground (was there meth there?!) and Luke's run-in with the World's Most Annoying Forrest Gump impersonator.

Today On TBTL: John Hodgman.

More Puffy Vest Than You Probably Require Indoors

You know John Hodgman because he's the guy who plays the PC in those Mac ads and because he's a frequent contributor to The Daily Show, and This American Life and because he writes awesome books, most recently 'More Information Than You Require'. You probably also heard about the rousing speech he gave recently about how lucky we are to have a nerd president (with the very nerd president in question looking on and cracking up from a just a few feet away). Anyway, tune in today to hear all of those accomplishments rendered mere footnotes in Mr. Hodgman's Curriculum Vitae compared the spectacular TBTL interview that he's likely to turn in.

See you then,
