    Apparently not!

Until they want to sell the franchise to the highest bidder. Just like Howard Schultz and just like the Maloofs.

I gotta concur with Forrest, I was thinking the exact same thing when I was reading those quotes in the article. And yes there are things I enjoy in life, like being a hardcore Sonics fan my entire life. Give me back the old Sonics, the team that's in OKC now and I might get on board. What's happening to the fans in Sacramento is a joke and saying something like having admiration for those fans just further insults them.

Your highly optimistic post reminds me of a Mitch Hedberg joke:

Mitch, why do you like red wine? Doesn't it give you a headache?

Yeah! But the first and the middle part are amazing. I'm not going to not do something just because of what will happen at the end! "Mitch do you want an apple?", NO EVENTUALLY IT WILL BE A CORE!"

Seriously man, lighten up. By the way Russel Wilson is a bust too because he will eventually be an old, washed out QB like Matt Hasselbeck. I guess we'd better cut him.

    Keep Wally Walker away!
Don't let that creep near the new team, he ruined the Sonics.

But Walker was key to putting this ownership group together. He was Hansen's liaison between Ballmer, Nordstrom and politicians. I think it's time that we forgive (as long as he stays away from team decisions moving forward).

I can't remember one move he made that was a good one. I'm excited about new blood running this team. Keep Walker away please.

    No issue here.
How many dollars will I shell out in tax dollars for this new venue for this millionaire? There is no way this facility, streets, parking, police, repairs will be paid by Hansen with his profits.

your taxes will help pay for the new arena. If you stay away, they will not. My guess is you won't be paying any taxes. So quit worrying and be happy for those who enjoy the sport.

    What has changed?
OK, so it looks like Seattle might be getting another NBA team. It won't be the Sonics, but at least it will have the name. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say we lost the Sonics years ago because the owners couldn't make the profits they expected. So what has changed since then? Lower expectations? And where will the team play? The Key Arena that was deemed to small for a professional team? The article mentions a new facility, but construction on that can't even start until we secure an NHL team, and I haven't heard any talk about that. That is probably still years away. So congrats to the NBA fans; but if you couldn't support the original Sonics, how are you going to support this new team?

No! Seattle did NOT lose the team because; " the owners couldn't make the profits they expected"
Seattle lost the Super Sonics because Wally Wanker cared more about cultivating his refined/cosmpolitan appearance amongst the NBA cognoscenti, than he cared about winning Championships.

Karl won 71.4% of his games between 91 and 98. Phil Jackson won 74.7% of his games during the same period. Karl had ALMOST as much success using MUCH LESS talent. From time to time Karl would speak from his heart and call bullscheise where he saw it. Wally Wanker took offense to Karl's HONESTY.

Karl got fired. Super Sonics sucked for years afterward. Team Gone. EFF - U Wally Wanker!

Wally Walker is an ignorant C-unt.
If he has ANYTHING to do with team management, then we are fukd.

    Meanwhile... Go! Super Sonics!
