Analyzing a hypothetical trade involving Flynn, Jaguars
Brock Huard and Mike Salk weigh in on a hypothetical trade that would have the Seahawks swapping second-round picks with the Jaguars and sending Matt Flynn to Jacksonville.

    Flynn trade to Jacksonville
The trade sounds like a great idea. I would be all in. Not sure if the Jaguars would pull the trigger

does not sound right to me..
Flynn value at backup right now seems to far out weight the switch at spots. Especially sinse John is very good a picking good pick late in rounds. The first round and early seconds are not set in stone value players. Matt is. He worth more. Give us a second or third. Where are they going to find a proven QB in the NFL with a huge up side. Its worth a second or third no later and now switching.

    Why Trade at all?
NFL Premium QB's are a rare commodity. If Matt wants to stay and compete, that would give us an extremely good QB to back up Wilson....there's no guarantee's that we'd get another quality QB to be back up...certainly don't want to fall back to the T. Jackson mode...let's stand pat and see what next season brings....let the draft work itself out.....next year could bring another chance at the ring..I'm sure ALL the Seahawks would love that !!

That's exactly it, I would love if Flynn wanted to be our backup but he doesn't want that, and he's not going to "compete", there's no way he beats Wilson.

    Tavarias Jackson
Speaking of Tavarias Jackson. I would have no problem bringing him in as a backup to Russell Wilson. But only in a backup role. I would be willing to bet that if T. Jack played under RWIII that he would learn quit a bit. T. Jack will not win a super bowl but he would be an ok backup.

    Weaker draft class for QBs?
I think Seattle could get a bit more value out of Flynn than simply swapping draft picks. As it stands, Jacksonville is a team that is desperate for a QB and free agent market is very thin (Flacco will get franchise-tagged). Even with this said, Seattle isn't going to get a Kolb-like trade. They might be able to get Buffalo's 2nd round pick @ 41. It'll be more likely they get an early 3rd from KC or Jacksonville if they decide to trade Flynn "straight-up" for picks, especially if Seattle wants to stockpile picks.

    Try This
The Jets Draft #9 and need a QB to compete with Sanchez. Swap Matt Flynn our #25 pick and our 6th round pick, for the Jets #9. Use #9 to select Sheldon Richardson 6'5" 295 lb DT. Slide Red Bryant inside and put Richardson in Red's LDE position. He may be the perfect player for that spot.

    Moving RED is bad
Moviing Red inside is bad, what makes him the beast he is, is playing outside. Remember, he was in danger of being let go before they moved himn outside?

    Flynn
Matt is valuable to the Seahawks and nobody can say he wants out. For Seattle to compete, they need two good QBs on the team. Talk of trading back or re-acquiring Tarvaris is just nonsense, it's the kind of talk horsetraders pursue when they want to return to mediocrity. If Jacksonville or some other team wants Matt Flynn, they can just step up and overpay for him like any other desperate team. Seattle doesn't owe Jacksonville or anyone else a sweet trade deal for our valuable backup QB. Let the other teams squirm for once, Seattle is in the driver's seat on this one. Don't be chumps.

I Will Go You One Better.............
Wilson is one hit away from a season ending injury. What are you going to do then?

    1. Kiss the season goodbye?

    2. If you have Jackson.........put him in and kiss the season goodbye?

    3. Put in Flynn, who is a dammed good qb and would probably take a few games to knock off the rust, but you wouldn't kiss the season goodbye?

    hpygolkyone...totally agree...
I keep hearing the Hawks want to build depth, and the QB is obviously the best place to have it. Because Russell is paid so minimally, even with Flynns' contract we are getting unbelievable value at that position. I still remember Rodgers calling Flynn a top 12 QB when he was heading to free agency. We keep him, use the same late round draft magic to pick up depth at most positions. Hope free agency nets an elite WR like Bowe and we roll. If someone wants to over pay for Flynn, we listen, but I don't see a downside to Flynn being on the team next year.

    Matt Flynn...
has played his last game in a seahawks uniform. He's getting traded or cut. not sure I see Jacksonville giving seattle the first pick of the 2nd day for Matt Flynn, but i do agree if any team reaches that hard it will be Bradley in Jax. Hopefully they can get something, but in my eyes the late round pick that may be coming for him isnt what seattle needs. they need high round picks at this point not 3rd day picks.
