    Was it necessary to sign Felix to this contract? Well let me pose this question. After Felix who is the second best player on the Mariners? Is it Kyle Seager? Is it Jose Montero? Kendrys Morales? Michael Morse? The point is the Mariners are clearly lacking in star power. If the Mariners lost Felix this could set the Seattle organization back 5-10 years. Felix is far and away the biggest draw on the Mariners. The Mariners had no choice but to get this deal done.

    This does not keep them from signing a hitter. They tried to sign several hitters. Thos guys said no. Not becuase the money was not good enough etc. They did not want to be here. Upton and Hamilton. Last year Fielder. You can force people to live in grey gloom! Good signing to get Felix. I know you all want instant winning but have you stopped to look and see that they improved by 8 games last year. 8 games is a lot. This year, they will finish at or above 500 barring big injuries. Next year play off contention. It takes time to build. Period.
