Hansen increases offer to buy Kings by $25 million
Chris Hansen announced that his Seattle Ownership Group has raised its offer to buy the Kings from the Maloof brothers by $25 million to $550 million, just hours after it was reported that a Sacramento investment team told the NBA that it would match Hansen's previous offer of $525 million.

IMO Chris Hansen is an idiot. What kind of multi millionaire would put SO much of his money into a stupid basketball team/arena? He should use that money on better things, like helping people, improving schools, etc. I would. He will be held accountable for that money he has been given. I know this basketball thing has gotten out of hand. Lets spend millions on a team/arena so these guys can get paid millions to play a backyard game? really? There is a reason the Sonics are no longer here. I won't drop a dime on any pro-sport ever again. I can't justify the money these suckers are getting paid to play a game, and the outrageous money required by the public just to come watch (parking, beers, tickets, shirts, etc). Im out!

    The Hansen Offer
Two things that are not in Seattle's favour. 1). Jock-sniffing Commish Stern is going to do all he can to see that his BFF Kevin Johnson keeps his team. His actions for his preference for the Kings to stay in Sacramento are obvious; he pushed back the decision date to allow Sacto more time to round up financing and his comments that the offer Seattle made to the Maloofs still must be approved by the other owners 2). The Hansen/Ballmer group has been under a Stern-issued "gag order" preventing them from publicly commenting on the on-going battle with Sacto over the possible purchase while KJ can say and do anything he wants. If Stern had been this willing to allow Seattle more time in 2008, like he is doing now for Sacramento, the Sonic NEVER would have left. Stern's disdain for the city of Seattle is obvious in both his actions and his words. We will not get another NBA franchise until he is gone. Period

I have to give KJ credit if we had a mayor like that when the Sonics were stolen from us we would have never lost them in the first place. I cant wait for Stern to retire. Sledge keep your opinions to yourself jerk. if you dont support sports teams in Seattle then dont be reading about them. you must be lying because you wouldnt be reading or commenting if you didnt care.

    What I like about this
Is that while it feels that Stern and the NBA are content towards using Seattle as leverage for any team wanting new stuff from their region, Hansen and his group are at least making it very expensive for a team to stay. NBA, you want to help Sacramento, feel free, but we're going to make you and that new ownership bankrupt in doing so.

That's kind of my attitude- get it now, or burn it all down.

Why wouldnt seattle want a NBA & NHL team? Its o.e of the best citys in the usa for a team. Sacramento doesnt need a team.they already have how many teams in cali. I think Hansen/balmer push the price up again just so cry baby kevin and his goon squad back out. Andi wish the maloofs didnt extend their deadline.if they didn't crybaby wouldnt of made it. Stern is pulling all this ish thinking he is going to have it hisway but there is still this vote that needs to be done and who says the rest of the owners oppose to the move.NOBODY KNOWS the OUTCOME SO QUIT TALKING LIKE YOU ALL KNOW!! Alot of people thought the lawsuits were going to put a add stop to the sale and build but it didnt. I say we get the team only because stern is trying to stop it from happening. I still stand behind Chris Hansen.i don't think Kevin Johnson has a complete offer he hasn't had long enough time to put one together even though they say they matched it.GO SONICS!!!

Goverment has wrecked this world with thier nuclear steam engines that is so antihuman its off the charts. Waste that is so toxic. where ever you store it leaks and can not be stopped. Like into the columbia river known as the worlds most radio active river!. Yet we want to spend Tripple for Hansen arena land and borrow 200 million all on the tax payers dime when clean up and shut down of Hanford is by far more important. Key Arena is ready for the next basketball team but Hansen does not want that. the Arena is paid for and profits would go back to the citizens and help property taxes go down. Because you idiots don't understand your getting ripped off by a handfull of magets and parasites oh ya thats OK. You see the building this new sports dump arena is alot of profits that get made just in the making of the building. Like safeco field Voters turned it down twice. It was all about the building and soaking the tax payers for hundreds of millions only to put a garbage dump of a team inside the worst of the worst. You see thats the game. To take your money and make you pay for it by higher taxes. Thats why they got to be Billionaires. By spending citizen money where profits only go to a select few themselfs of course. Not the true owners the Citizens who get basicly nothing. Just try to see through this B/S that they are spreading.

How can you talk garbage like this about Seattle sport teams and their stadiums, yet your clearly a big Seahawks fan? Century Link was constructed using more tax payer dollars than what is proposed for this new Sonics Arena. At least all the public money put up for the basketball arena will be paid back by taxes generated by ticket sales at the facility. Can you say the same for Century Link where your beloved Seahawks play?

    Clearly Hansen loves money!.
He wants the best deal. Then use all of his own money. Its his toy he is just making this fake attemped that we suddenly need a basketball team. Fine buy it your self and don't panhandle for money from the hard working citizens. Goverment should protect the citizens we all know they don't. Fluoride in your water GMO in your food and cancer causing products everywhere. Yet Goverment does nothing to protect the citizens. Let the people vote if money is borrowed or spent by anysports arena deals that goes without saying. Key Arena sits empty why not use it. There is already a hockey stadium in Everet and kent. Lets have the Tax payer start to make some money back by Useing this Great empty arena. If Hansen does not like it tuff you are not borrowing or selling any land to this City council. Unless the Citizens get to Vote on it. This is clearly known that Corporations own are goverment and this has got to stop. Key Arena must be used so that the Tax payers start to get back in revenue monies they spent on key arena in the first place.

Key Arena is in fact being used and, according to King 5 News, turned a profit last year. Your generalization that Key Arena is just sitting their at Seattle Center empty just rotting away is very wrong. Here is a question for you, Paul Allen is worth at 5 times greater that the Hansen/Ballmer/ Nordstrom group, so why didn't he put of all the money to construct Century Link Field where your beloved Seahawks play? Your a huge hypocrite by bashing the Sonics and Mariners, yet rooting for the Seahawks.
