Russell Okung runs with bulls in Spain
It's definitely not the most conventional way to train during the offseason, but Seahawks standout Russell Okung certainly got a workout last week when he ran with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.

    who's idea was that...
Okung or his agent. What next, paragliding, cliff diving, lawn darts. When does the team step in and say please don't?

Russell Okung Sprains Ankle in Spain
You said it, Godhed... Seems that with a guy like RO, who's as fragile as they come, and who's a big part of the puzzle, they should know when to say when. Unbelievable.

    I suppose
for the most part I would agree with the people that didn't like RO risking injury in any way but to be honest with you, the media really makes running with the bulls as something really dangerous. We only see and hear about the occasionally gore but in actuality, it's really mild and somewhat boring. They don't run "from" the bulls but rather run "with" as in alongside the bulls. Really lame stuff.

news reported several people gored this year
maybe lame in your book but getting gored by a bull will really eff up your season....

    Da Bulls
It's not my "cuppa tea", but Russell is a young man who has the "whole world" before him as he says, and although we hold our breath for him, I want to be sure I am doing that for the right reason-truly for his safety and not with the false feeling of "ownership" in that he is our star left tackle. He will look back on his experience as one of the great adventures pro football has afforded him, and while we are watching our flat screens with feet up and drinks in hand this fall, Mr. Okung will be in the hand-to-hand combat zone known as the NFL; doing his job to the utmost of his ability and providing the rich Seahawks' experience we all crave. Best to you Russell.

    Two steps back...
and he gets a high ankle sprain.. TWICE! Now he is "running" with the bulls? Okay I am not sure who is more stupid Okung, his agent or the Seahawks staffer paid to provide a beatdown on players even thinking about off-field crap like this.

    Hard to Begrudge...
the young man living his life, but it just doesn't seem smart especially when your profession relies on you being in top physical condition. Not to mention a fan base that is counting on you. I agree with some others, go crazy after career is over and the money is made. Kind of makes you think the agent is not very smart either!

    It's still his choice.
Granted as a fan I'm a little selfish, but for a young person to do something fun and exciting like that...why not? I loved it when I did my running of the bulls. Sure there's a lot invested, but he still has a life. I'd much prefer that than him murdering people on his free time.

    This is what happens
when you give someone a $48 million contract with $30 million of it GUARANTEED 9.5 million of incentives and about $7 million a year. He doesn't give a crap about playing football, he's got it made for the rest of his life (no matter how short it is, running with the bulls).
