    Morse over Bay
Kinda saw that coming. Now.....do we keep Morse and Morales or trade them?? Ibanez stays........no question. His maturity and leadership qualities are why the M's are doing as well as they are right now. Everybody on the team points to him as "the man".

Morse won't be considered a viable trade option, after being hurt so long. There is not enough time left before the deadline for him to make a strong enough impression. I am not sure any contenders need any of our players enough to give up a decent prospect, despite all this speculation! Detroit picked up some late innings closer type help from Houston today. Morales will be next to impossible to sign with Boras as his agent. He is most likely to draw interest, but it all come down to what we can get for him. Raul hasn't hit a homer since before the break, and historically isn't a 2nd half guy.

An OF of Saunders, Ackley, and Morse......
....would spell Ibanez, Chavez, and maybe Gutierrez. Maybe. He might remain at AAA for awhile also, to prove his health once again. Morales splits with Smoak at 1B. Who else plays 1B? Ibanez was meant to be part-time, but that didn't work. Now if he can be p/t, the hitting might return.

    Ackley
Sorry, Ackley needs to go. I rooted for him for a long time but the guy seems to lack the passion of Franklin, Miller and Zunino. If Gutierrez could stay healthy, put him in RF, Saunders in CF and Raul or Morse in LF. I think Ackely needs a change of attitude and scenery.
