Applications for US unemployment aid rise to 354K
The number of Americans seeking unemployment aid rose 10,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 354,000, a sign layoffs have increased. Still, the level of applications is consistent with steady hiring.

    Our unemployment will run out soon. No work for close to two years!! Hundreds of applications sent, a few interviews, but no job. So depressing. And what will we live on when the unemployment does run out? Savings already used up. Scared.

    is that many applicants have officially milked it as long as possible and no longer qualify......so obviously there would be a decline. Duh.

    When Obama took office: 65.7% Today 63.6%. Where did all these workers go?? Well, at least the bankers STILL have a job and their bonuses.

    on the near horizon would indicate that the job market is going to improve. With the recent news of some cities declaring bankruptcy my guess is things will get worse before they get better.
