I Find John Can be Darn Funny.
For Child like charlie its her World and she needs to Find Her own way. Dad should only try to answer questions or calm her fears. I feel it would be best for John and Charlie that John should let Charlie try to be Normal. By just leaving her alone to figure things out. If that "fails" yes she will be like John on her own. Until then respect her trying to live and have a normal life.

    Bullying
John, listen to your daughter. As a parent of a 10 year old boy, I can see how we, as parents, sometimes see this as a right of passage. But if you really think about it, it's a form of bullying. What if your daughter came home and told you that kids, or even a teacher at her school, was doing the same kind of thing? You'd be right down there protecting your daughter. One thing it will do, is instill a bit of anxiety toward discussing with you any serious issue for fear of how you may react. I see it in my medical practice every day.

Send John Curley to the 3-6pm Slot
Send Ron & Don to Anchorage (or wherever). They are truly unlistenable radio. Every time I turn on the radio on my way home from work I pray that it is a pair of new voices with some thrown-together show mentioning nothing oddly, not a peep, of Ron and Don. It will be then that I know they have been fired because they suck, and the new show is simply temoprary while they prepare to move John to the mid-afternoon slot. John is good radio.

I have stopped listening to 97.3 and switched to 710. Then I couldn't stand KC & the go 2 guy so now I listen to a music station.

    I SECOND THAT SHARK!
I tried to listen but after sitting in like a trance for 30 minutes hearing them drone on I had to turn the channel. I just spent 30 minutes and realize that absolutely nothing has been said. I have learned nothing. If I want background noise, I'll switch to the elevator music station.

    Just Wait For the Payback
I'm sure John has carefully considered what will happen, years from now when he's in a nursing home and his daughter is dropping him off...

    Mixed feelings
As a child my Dad would tease me & embarrass me too. But it helped tuffin me up, gave me a ticker skin & I learned how to shoot back with verbal arrows, otherwise known as sarcasm. Now when people try to get under my skin by teasing me, I'm well equipped to 1) not let it bother me & 2) "fight" back. That skill set has come in handy during multiple times in my life & now I appreciate the method that my dad used. She may not understand now, but later she'll be able to hang in almost any environment. As long as she knows she's loved she'll survive to embarrass her kids too.

I'm sure you'd rather listen to do*uchebag Don talk about climbing Mt. Rainier or Ron bumble nonstop about stuff he read on Wikipedia passing it off as stuff he wants you to think he already knew? Just what kind of garbage do you consider interesting?

    There is a line...
Between teasing and bullying. I do not see humiliating my child in public as teasing. To me that is hurtful and over the line. If that sort of stuff is said at home then not so bad but I see no reason to do that among her friends. especially when she appears to be at the age where kids, especially girls, are teased and ostricised at school. Maybe he and Dan Savage can take a course on sensitivity together.

Bring back a decent afternoon drive
I'd love to hear John in the afternoon. Not doing the things to his daughter that's been mentioned, but giving us listeners a deserved break! Maybe that'll take give his daughter a break too. I can take Ron, but with Don, he just always has to be right or putting down Ron. I hope that their relationship outside their show isn't the same as on air. If Don were my ??friend?? he wouldn't be for long.

John is a great story teller.
I too agree that John should be moved up to Ron & Don's slot. Ron & Don are same story, different day. The schtick never changes, and has gotten extremely boring. Maybe when he says 'isssssaquaaaaaaaah" was funny once, maybe the 2nd time, but now we are on 5,370 time, and well it just aint funny anymore. John Curley really excels.
