A new documentary on E! Network called "A Family Tragedy: The Powells", features the first interviews with the psychologist who worked with Josh Powell. It paints an even darker picture of Powell, who died earlier this year when he set his house on fire after killing both his young sons.

    It's too bad
that the STATE did not live up to their responsibility to put that dirtbag away after killing his wife and BEFORE he murdered his innocent children. The more that comes out, the more angry I become. The STATE should be held CRIMINALLY LIABLE for their INCOMPETENCE.

Hope this story goes away soon
He did it because he thought he could get away with it and he did not care. Same reasoning for gang members who shoot at each other killing bystanders. The police are basically toothless. Our cops need the power to do their jobs. The citizens need to carry weapons to shoot back.

It is important to review this case
to learn from it. Protective parents across the country have been speaking out to highlight the problems in family court that allow abusive and sometimes lethal parents to obtain unsupervised visitation and even sole custody of children. The courts often condemn a safe parent for speaking out about safety concerns by separating them from their children and claiming they are merely vindictive. What members of the public would concede were unsuitable parents, the courts give every chance, at the expense of the health, safety and welfare of children. Parents rights should never trump childrens safety.

OH, E! is doing a "documentary" on the family...
probably totally hard hitting and completely factual. i especially like that they have the person doing the interviews ask if the psychologist thought that he might have been showing the kids all the sick stuff on his computer and they guy basically says, "yeah, maybe." that's some hard hitting stuff.

what else MIGHT he have been doing? we could drag this story out FOREVER!

what's that "E!" stand for, again?

    Oly80, I couldn't agree more...
And what's always worse about tragic stories like this... is that they inevitably get "Monday morning quarterbacked" to death.

    "E!" indeed... some truly in-depth hard-hitting journalism...
