Spanaway company accused of food stamp fraud
The Iowa Steak Company, of Spanaway, was raided Thursday night by federal inspectors and police looking for evidence of food stamp fraud.

    Workers accused of food stamp fraud. The company isn't accused and from the sound of it they haven't done anything wrong. Get it right. Undeserved bad press about the company when it should just mention that they worked for the Iowa steak company.

    Where in the body of the story does it state that the "Spanaway Company" accused of fraud, is involved at all other than having employed the drivers they had terminated earlier??? Its this kind of lazy fact finding and sensationalism that runs good companys out of town or out of business. Read your own story, then write the headline. If Iowa Steak, as a company, really did participate in this fraud, then report THAT.

    No where in the article does it even hint that the company was in any way involved. That headline is not just misleading, but potentially libelous......

    Is this a legitimate company then yes the headline is misleading. But there are a lot of these weasels driving around poor neighborhoods peddling meat that they probably shoplifted. (Yes, it is a problem. Back in the day we'd catch these people jamming steaks in their bras that the grocery I used to work for).

    At least one a week - just about any tavern or bar, to least in the Tukwila / Renton area - there is someone bringing by good cuts of meay at super discount prices. I know there ARE a couple of legit companies, but.................

    This kind of "reporting" just hits my hot button. Does MYNW have the wanna-bee interns working the weekends?? Some editor should get the writer(s) of this story to re-do it and re-post. Dont go chicken out and delete the story eihter..making it go away... You started this one...finish it, Do it right.

    those starving people must really need food. Good thing people keep voting to support these programs and support the fight for hunger. It's America people, nobody goes hungry. This is a falsification.

    Isn't that what your Conservtive hopefully for the oval office says? I agree, it seems weird to identify the employees as "the company". OK, beyond that, how about a Corporation pays it's people enough to where they are not motivated to do things like they are accused of in this case. Ooops, sorry, that would be socialism, my bad.
