Fans are cheered on Sunday as they celebrate the Seattle Storm’s third WNBA championship during a parade and rally.

The mood was electric as trolleys carried players and coaches on a route that began at the Space Needle and arrived at KeyArena just as the rain fell.
Aboard one trolley, Storm forward Breanna Stewart pumped the championship trophy into the air and smiled. It was just one of three trophies that the players displayed along the parade, one for each of the team’s three titles.
“The city deserves a championship and we’re so glad that we were able to do that,” Storm guard Jewel Lloyd told KIRO Radio.
Fans in yellow and green jerseys lined the streets and later packed into KeyArena.
“They (the Storm) show people why places like this matter,” Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan told KIRO Radio. “People come together. When you see those kids go out on the floor with Doppler, it’s magical. It’s magical and it’s a magical moment for Seattle.”
“We’re so proud in our state that these women have brought home the national title,” Senator Maria Cantwell told KIRO Radio after the parade.
The Storm beat the Washington Mystics in a three-game sweep in the finals.
