Two people shot, killed in parked car in Skyway

Two people were shot and killed while sitting in a parked vehicle in the Skyway area on Thursday, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office. As police investigated the scene, a brawl broke out between bystanders.

Police responded to the scene near the 12200 block of 68th Avenue South. The street was closed between 124th and Renton Ave South for the investigation. The Seattle Times reports a passerby called 911 at about 4:40 p.m. to report hearing multiple shots and two victims inside of a car.

The sheriff’s office has not yet released any suspect details.

Emotions ran high in the hours following the shooting. A brawl broke out between bystanders and neighbors at the scene. Officers deployed a taser and pepper spray and broke the fight up. Five people, including a deputy, were treated after being sprayed. Extra officers were called in after the fight.
