Four victims of the infamous 2015 Ride the Ducks crash on Seattle’s Aurora Bridge have settled with the company.

A lawyer tells The Seattle Times that the four have agreed to a payment of $8.25 million — $7 million of that will go to the family of an 18-year-old Indonesian student, killed in the accident.

The rest of the settlement money will go to three students who were injured.

The attorney says the settlement only involves Ride the Ducks Seattle and Ride the Ducks International. The victim’s claims against the City of Seattle and the state remain.

The settlement comes even as a civil trial continues in King County Superior Court. That lawsuit includes claims from 42 people who were killed or hurt that day.

On Sept. 15, 2015 a Ride the Ducks boat’s axle broke, sending it into oncoming traffic on the Aurora Bridge, slamming into a tour bus.
