The truth about targeted fat reduction

SPONSORED — It’s really a myth that fat can be targeted for reduction from a specific area of the body through exercising specific muscles. When you lose fat, you lose it across your entire body. This phenomenon was reflected in a 2013 study, in which test subjects trained using only their nondominant leg three times per week for 12 weeks. While the participants’ body fat mass significantly decreased over the course of the study, none of them achieved a decrease in fat mass in either leg. In fact, fat reduction was primarily achieved in the upper body.

The only way to really spot reduce fat is through medical means – invasive or noninvasive procedures.
