Activist climbs CA Gov. Gavin Newsom’s wall to prove hypocrisy

Feb 2, 2019, 6:23 AM

Conservative activist Laura Loomer, 25, puts politicians like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and California Governor Gavin Newsom to the test when it comes to their stances on a border wall.

“They have walls, they have fences, they have security … it’s just hypocrisy,” she said of the politicians’ personal living situations.

After Nancy Pelosi said “walls are an immorality,” Loomer — along with a few undocumented immigrants from Guatemala and Mexico — set up a ‘sanctuary tent’ on Pelosi’s Napa Valley lawn.

“Since she believes that sanctuary and asylum are a human right, I thought that I would just go seek sanctuary on her lawn at her multi-million-dollar mansion,” Loomer told KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson.

The police “deported” Loomer and the immigrants from the lawn, but did not arrest them.

This prompted Loomer to try a second experiment — would she escape arrest if she also hopped the fence onto Gov. Gavin Newsom’s lawn, but without immigrants by her side?

As is documented in the above video, police arrested Loomer and her friend, Frontline America’s Ben Bergquam, and brought them  to Sacramento County Jail on misdemeanor trespassing charges.

“It turns out that if you have illegals with you, you don’t get arrested, but if you don’t have illegals with you, you will be arrested,” she said wryly. “I guess you could only translate that into, illegals matter more than American citizens.”

Taxpayers pay $23 billion in California to illegal immigrants, Loomer said.

“His first item of business after being sworn in this month as governor of California was to pass legislation to get free health care for illegal aliens,” Loomer observed of Newsom.

She pointed out that around the Governor’s Mansion in Sacramento, there are plenty of low-income neighborhoods, as well as homeless people on the streets, including veterans.

“Why is it that Gavin Newsom is more concerned about giving health care to illegal aliens when there are a lot of American citizens who don’t even have health care?” she asked. “I’m not advocating for socialism by any means whatsoever, but if we’re going to be giving out free health care in this country, shouldn’t it go to taxpayers or American citizens?”
