Amazon is expected to seal a huge real estate deal in Bellevue Tuesday.

Earlier this month, Amazon announced their plans to move thousands of employees across Lake Washington.

The company is expected to close on the Bellevue Corporate Plaza, which is home to a number of companies. The city’s website said plans were already in the works to redevelop it.

Rumors first circulated concerning Amazon’s interest in the 10-story Bellevue Corporate Plaza property in February, when the Puget Sound Business Journal reported that the tech giant had put down non-refundable money on the building.

Amazon’s growth is pushing thousands of its workers outside Seattle.

Earlier this month, Bellevue told KIRO 7 it planned for the arrival of thousands of new Amazon workers who are part of the worldwide ops team responsible for things such as ensuring package delivery.

Bellevue was slated to have up to 5,000 Amazon employees, but the company may be considering enough space for 25,000, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.

That would be in league with the company’s northern Virginia campus.

Amazon nixed a second headquarters in New York City’s Queens borough while Bellevue has allowed for much taller buildings downtown.

If Amazon has a tower in the city, space a half-block from the Bellevue Corporate Plaza in another tall tower, and has even more space around downtown to expand, it could add up to tens of thousands of employees in Bellevue.
