One person has died in a two-alarm house fire in Everett early Thursday.

The flames at the home in the 3600 block of Shore Avenue broke out in the basement shortly after 3:30 a.m.

Two other people who lived in the house were able to escape. They were taken to a hospital — one with burns, one with minor injuries.

The person who died was a senior-aged woman.

Firefighters had to fight the flames from the outside after it became too dangerous to go inside.

The brick house has extensive damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
