Remembering D-Day

Thank you for sharing CBS broadcasts

My aunt was an air traffic controller for NAS Seattle at Sand Point. My dad was a very young aviator who served aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown. My uncles were merchant mariners. Thanks for sharing the CBS D-Day broadcasts, I really enjoyed them. I know that my grandma as well as the neighborhood heard the broadcast live. I grew up on “war stories.”

Thank you to your dad and the entire Greatest Generation

Hi Dori, every year at this time I am in awe when I think about the events of D-Day. That was a day when thousands of the bravest men who ever walked the face of this Earth changed the course of history and saved the world. I wish I could personally thank every one of them, including your dad.

I wonder sometimes as well if it could ever happen today. I’m not sure our young people have what it takes, and I wonder if they would have the backing of their leaders. I wonder what the reaction of the new people of Congress would be to the men who took on evil to save the world. I’m not sure what my point is in all of this, other than to say thank you to your dad and the thousands like him. Also, I am sorry for the profound effect it had on so many of them, like your dad. Thank you for all you do, Dori.

– Tom in Clinton

Love the 1944 broadcasts, but not the comments on Trump

I loved the D-Day recordings. But FYI: Donald Trump sat for an interview in front of the graves and lambasted both Nancy Pelosi and Robert Mueller, a twice-decorated war hero. Pelosi, given the chance to discuss Trump, declined and forced the conversation to the safety/well-being of our troops. So stop complaining about people pointing out he hadn’t served. Obama was too young to be called up for anything. Trump was not. I just wish you could be truthful and fair. Too much to hope for?

Everyone should visit Normandy

Dori, if you haven’t been to the beaches of Normandy, you really need to go. It. Will. Change. You. We were visiting family in Germany late last summer and drove over. My brother-in-law is an Apache pilot right now, but before that he had been a Ranger, and before that was with the First Infantry Division. The First was responsible for Omaha Beach. We happened to be there on an early morning at low tide. My brother-in-law walked straight out to the water line, waded in up to his knees, and turned and looked back. I followed him. After about a minute of silence, he said, “I just wanted to see for myself how much beach they had to cover.” I honestly had no idea how important it would be to see those beaches and those cemeteries.

Great job to Dori and Carolyn on Dow story

Dori, keep up the heat on Dow Constantine. I wonder when that worm is finally going to get the guts to talk to the public. I also keep wondering when the rest of Seattle’s media is going to talk about the story, if ever. Keep doing the Lord’s work, sir. God bless you.

– Kevin

Dori, I just wanted to tell you I love what you’re doing with the Constantine story. Keep it up!
Very, very interesting, and pretty disturbing too.

– Dave in Shoreline

Be fair to Mitzi

Dori, please don’t be so quick to throw the sheriff under the bus by calling her a liar. Perhaps she has been told that if she talks to you she will lose her job.

– Laura in Steilacoom

Stop spreading false narratives about Democrats

On Monday, Dori spoke very briefly about the town hall on Fox News with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand. He only briefly spoke about how she disrespected the Fox News viewers and how Chris Wallace called her out, but he didn’t expand on the town hall clip and how Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand explained her actions. I believe Dori falsely misrepresented what happened at the town hall and I’m thoroughly disappointed with him and the station for allowing him to do that. This is not the first time I’ve caught him misrepresenting the truth about the Democrats and their platform. If you’re not part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem. Stop spreading hate and false narratives about the Democrats. Democrats are not about open borders, taking away guns, and nine-month fetus abortions.
