Dori: No, you’re not having a nightmare — ST4 could be coming

Unbelievably, there are rumblings that Sound Transit wants to come back to us for more money for ST4. Yes, you read that right.

We know of course that ST3, the $54 billion light rail plan passed in 2016, is already way behind schedule and over budget. ST2, which includes the rail expansion to the Eastside and to Lynnwood, is also very much behind schedule and over budget.

But the thing that doesn’t get reported is that ST1, originally called Sound Move, is not done yet. That was the plan passed back in 1996. It is now 13 years behind schedule and tens of billions over budget — and that is just the first phase of light rail. They were supposed to be to the U District by now. They have not kept that promise. Husky Stadium is not the U District. But being the criminal liars that they are, when they got to Husky Stadium, they said they were on time and on budget because they did a reset. So they magically changed what they had promised the voters.

We, the taxpayers, are on the hook now for $100 billion. When I talk to people around the country about this, they don’t believe it. They have never heard of a transit project costing $100 billion. Sound Transit is an incredibly bloated agency run by criminals who overtax the value of your car and mine so that they can scam us out of more money through our car tabs. And these trains will be outmoded by the time it is built out, decades from now.

Sound Transit going $4B over budget in its criminal rip-off of taxpayers

And yet, an advocacy group called Seattle Subway says that it’s time for ST4. They’ve even got a vision map that would expand the light rail lines through different areas of Seattle and the Eastside. They told KOMO 4 that it would be more environmentally friendly.

Really? You want to talk about being environmentally friendly? Sound Transit just knocked down 5,500 trees. You can see the carnage if you drive up I-5 north of Northgate. The trees are being replaced with a concrete monstrosity. It’s not environmental — it’s a way to give the crooks as much money as possible. If you want to be more environmentally friendly, ride your bike to work like I have started doing.

Now understand, when we talk about $100 billion in transit projects, there are about 2 million people in the Sound Transit taxing district. That works out to $50,000 for every one of us. If you have a family of four, your family’s contribution will be $200,000 to these criminals. And now they want to expand those costs.

Oh, and Seattle Subway just wants Seattle residents to pick up the tab for ST4, like you’re not taxed enough. You’re already taxed to the hilt, but the most criminally corrupt public agency in the history of the United States just wants more.
