Stickers popping up on Link light rail cars around Western Washington are providing some interesting advice to riders. Despite appearances, however, the stickers and advice are not from Sound Transit.
Sound Transit to consider adding $1B to light rail project
I lost my home to Sound Transit’s light rail
The sticker states:
Attention Riders: If you are asked for your Link ticket or ORCA card be sure to produce it SLOWLY. This gives riders who couldn’t afford a ticket time to offboard. Questions? Comments? #LinkFair.
The sticker comes with a Sound Transit logo. The graphic design skills used to develop this prank are fairly impressive.
As of initial publishing of this article, no one has tweeted #LinkFair in relation to the stickers (though a previous hashtag of the same title was used a few years ago).
A Sound Transit spokesperson confirms that the decals are not a communication from Sound Transit. Maintenance crews are removing them from Link light rail vehicles as they appear.
