It’s been a deadly week in Seattle, with four murders occurring since Sunday, three of which have suspects currently at large.

Reported crimes in Seattle down in 2019, gun violence still a concern

On Wednesday, police said an elderly couple died in an apparent murder-suicide at a senior living facility in the Madison Park area. Neighbors said they hadn’t seen the couple in two days.

Police are also asking for help getting to the bottom of three other murders as well, hoping to get witnesses or surveillance footage to aid in their investigation.

On Tuesday night, a 27-year-old man was shot to death while on a walk in the Licton Springs area. Two suspects are currently at large.

Early Monday morning, a 41-year-old man was found dead at a bus stop in the University District. The medical examiner identified the victim today as Joshua Mawhiney, and ruled his death a murder. Police say he was involved in fight Monday morning, and are trying to find out if that’s related.

Racial disparity and gun violence continues to grow in King County

Early Sunday morning, a fight outside a Belltown bar ended in gunfire. A witness told KIRO 7 TV that he heard a noise, a woman screaming seconds later, and then saw somebody laying on the street shortly after that.

The 32-year-old victim died on the way to the hospital.

No arrests have been made in that case, either.
