Around 2:30 a.m., Kent police officers approached a “suspicious” male with a warrant for his arrest, as well as a female, behind Kentridge High School. They both fled on foot. While officers were in the process of arresting the man, the woman got behind the wheel of the team’s police SUV, a Chevrolet Tahoe, and drove away.
The driver got onto I-90 in the eastbound direction and headed over Snoqualmie Pass at high speed before exiting and getting back onto I-90 heading west.
The Washington State Patrol pursued the driver, tracking it using the standard-issue locator included in police vehicles. Police were able to stop her near Snoqualmie. The driver was taken into custody near Highway 18 and the I-90 interchange.
