...

Local artist Abby London created a video urging Seattle voters to elect a new City Council. Watch and listen to her song in the style of Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.”

Equipped with her top hat and an ‘Ann Davison Sattler’ lapel pin, Abby joined The Saul Spady Show in-studio Friday. She said the inspiration for her parody song was her disappointment in the direction her city is heading.

“I started to get involved because I saw the city changing. I’ve lived here for over 10 years,” she said. “I had never seen a drug before. And now I see the [heroin] use every day. I started speaking out and that lead me to meeting people and here I am.”

Abby, like many other, has already turned in her ballot. Seattleites are heading to the polls in droves, presumably inspired by their dissatisfaction in the current leadership. We are all feeling the impact of the homelessness and addiction crisis, and it is time for a change.

Ballots are due August 6th, have you voted yet?
