3 men exchange fire at Renton transit center

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Renton police are searching for a gunman who opened fire at the downtown transit center.

KOMO-TV reports it escalated into a shootout Thursday with two other men who were also armed.

Witnesses described scrambling for cover as bullets cut through the air in several directions.

Investigators say two men were at a bus shelter when a third man walked up. A few words were exchanged and then the third man kept walking – but only for a few steps before he turned and started shooting.

The two men pulled out their own guns and fired back. Police are searching for the first shooter.

No one was hurt.

The other two men were detained but it’s unclear whether they were arrested.
