The season of Pumpkin Spice is upon us

SPONSORED — While pumpkin spice may have started as a trendy flavor found in a few items, it has become a universal part of culture, signaling the end of summer.

In fact, consumers spend millions of dollars on pumpkin-flavored products every year.

“For the past several years, pumpkin flavoring has swept through stores each fall,” The Nielsen Company says. “And brands continue to jump on the autumnal bandwagon, bringing to market new pumpkin-flavored offerings across categories. These new offerings are benefiting from this popular fall flavor.”

You can embrace the joy of fall flavors in your seasonal celebrations, with these recipes.

Pumpkin pie

When it comes to choosing which pumpkin dishes should make your list, start with the most famous of them all.

“Today, the most popular way to prepare pumpkins is undoubtedly pumpkin pie,” recipe developer Tori Avey writes for PBS. “This trend first began during the 1800’s when it became stylish to serve sweetened pumpkin dishes during the holiday meal.”

There are many pumpkin pie recipes, so pick your favorite from family and friends, or use this recipe, which calls for a pre-made crust to make the process easy.
