Four separate shootings took place over the weekend across King County, injuring four people, and killing two others.

Gee: There are two sides to gun debate — love and hate

The first took place on Friday night, when a gunman opened fire outside Wild Waves theme park in Federal Way. A 17-year-old was critically injured, shot in the head during the water park’s “Fright Fest.” The suspect escaped in the chaos; law enforcement continues to search for him.

A Saturday drive-by shooting shortly before 1 a.m. injured two teenagers in the Rainier View neighborhood, marking the second instance of gun violence over the weekend. Seattle gang unit detectives are investigating.

The weekend’s third shooting took place early Saturday morning outside of Capitol Hill’s Baltic Room nightclub. Violence ensued outside around 2 a.m., stemming from a fight that started inside the venue.

The suspected shooter was injured, apprehended by Seattle police after attempting to hobble away from the scene holding a handgun. He was identified as a convicted felon unable to legally possess a firearm.

A second man was injured in the incident, a 35-year-old transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Rash of shootings, stabbing strike in Seattle

The fourth shooting of the weekend struck in Federal Way early Sunday morning, at a gas station on Southwest Dash Point Road at 312th Street. A 36-year-old man was killed, as part of what police are calling a dispute. The shooting was documented as the city’s first murder of 2019.

That all comes after another shooting in Federal Way last Wednesday, where a 14-year-old girl was shot in the leg while witnessing an altercation.

No arrests have been made in any of the three recent Federal Way shootings.
