Cheating Mukilteo candidate losing council race
Remember Peter Zieve? He’s the candidate who’s running for Mukilteo City Council that hung up on Jason Rantz. Well, he’s losing with 38% of the vote, according to a second round of vote tallying on Wednesday.
Zieve hung up on Rantz on Monday when asked whether he cheated during a recent candidate forum. According to the Mukilteo Beacon, Zieve admitted to having questions, offered to him in advance, when no other candidate received them.
Zieve first said Mario Lotmore, publisher of the Lynnwood Times and one of the event’s planners, gave him the questions in advance. Lotmore denied the charge. Then, Zieve changed his story.
When Rantz asked Zieve if the Beacon story was true, he said “I don’t know, actually.”
When asked if he had the questions in advance, Zieve hung up for the first time. Rantz called back, but Zieve hung up a second time.
