Thousands of fans attend Sounders MLS Cup victory parade in Seattle
Thousands of fans packed into downtown Seattle on Tuesday to celebrate the Sounders’ victory over Toronto on Sunday, and their second title in just four years.
A parade started at Westlake on the corner of 4th Avenue and Pine Street and wound its way through downtown. It ended with a rally at Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion Lawn. Among those in attendance were Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, Ciara, and Mayor Jenny Durkan.
Eleven Sounders players have been celebrating from afar, with a FIFA international break calling many of the team’s players to their national teams starting Monday, and extending through Nov. 19.
Tuesday’s festivities have proved to be an exciting celebration for fans and players alike, following a game that boasted the largest ever crowd for a sporting event at CenturyLink Field.
