Emboldened by a new, significantly more Progressive Seattle City Council, Socialists and far Left activists are ready to bring back the job killing Amazon head tax and finally follow through with promises on heroin injection sites, while cutting the Navigation Team.

Activist Nikkita Oliver couldn’t get out of the primary, let alone win her race for mayor, but she’s as pumped as anyone for the new council.

“What do you want to see happening in Seattle in 2020?” Oliver asked her Twitter followers. “We will have a couple far left council members. Let’s start organizing our communities now. The corporations are already mobilized.”

Oliver is referring to Socialists Kshama Sawant and Tammy Morales, but you can count on union-backed Andrew Lewis and Dan Strauss to join, in some way, the Socialist contingent. Incumbents Lisa Herbold, Teresa Mosqueda, and Lorena González will follow suit.

The responses to Oliver are exactly what you think they’d be.

Prior to election day, polls suggested voters were sick of the direction the city is headed and were looking for change. But now the council will double down on the exact policies voters spoke out against.
