Bomb threat prompts brief evacuation at Snohomish school

Students and staff at Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish were briefly evacuated late Thursday morning after a bomb threat was discovered written on a bathroom wall.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies searched the building and determined there was no cause for concern. Students were allowed to return to the building about an hour later.

Nearby Little Cedars Elementary was also placed on lockdown during the investigation.

The district posted the following statement on Facebook:

Authorities have searched Glacier Peak High School and have given the all clear for students and staff to return to the building and classrooms. Everyone is safe. We appreciate your understanding in this very important matter. We take matters of student and staff safety very seriously.
