Die Hard is a Christmas movie

Every year, this debate starts around our house, so today I am bringing it to you.
Die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie.
1. Sure, it was released in the summer of 1988, but Christmas Eve is the only day Hans Gruber’s plot would work because the city is shut down for Christmas. If it was Groundhog Day, Hans (Alan Rickman) wouldn’t find parking at Nakatomi Plaza.
2. Die Hard has Christmas music playing in the background of a few scenes and the would-be hostages are at a Christmas party. No Christmas party? No hostages like his wife NAMED “Holly.”
3. Die Hard is a redemption story. It’s about a flawed man who will do anything to save the woman he loves and she shows him forgiveness in the spirit of the season.
