Extra security is on the campus of Jackson High School in Mill Creek because of disturbing comments posted on social media.
Principal Dave Peters posted a note on the school’s website saying police have received more than 100 calls about the material. Peters emphasizes that there are no direct threats to the school or any individuals, other than the author of the post.
Mill Creek Police are working with Twitter, trying to figure out who wrote the comments, which sound like a suicide threat. The principal was not more specific.
Peters says he understands if some parents want to keep their children home from school Wednesday. He urges parents to speak to their children about what they read online and to report conversations of concern.
