Everything was as expected — the marathon debate, and the final impeachment vote, which came in as the President was holding a rally.

Ross: Character, continence required for impeachment testimony

“We have a vote coming in — so we have every single Republican voting for us,” President Trump declared to a crowd in Michigan.

Simultaneously back in Washington, D.C., Nancy Pelosi was being very solemn.

“Right now the President is impeached,” she stated.

That was followed by the President declaring he feels great.

“I don’t know about you but I’m having a good time, it’s crazy,” he said.

Followed by this:

“So we will make our decision on when we’re going to send it on the Senate side but that’s a decision we’ll make jointly,” said Speaker Pelosi.

Wait – what? Are you saying you’re not going to send the articles to the Senate right away?

Washington state representatives react to historic impeachment votes

To answer that question, yes, that’s exactly what she was saying. Just as Mitch McConnell was about to make the game-winning kick, Nancy Pelosi yanks the football.

Which is totally unfair, except Republicans themselves have said a Senate trial would be a waste of time – in fact Mitch McConnell has said that himself.

“[It will be] a show trial… we know how its going to end, the President’s not going to be removed from office, the only question is how long do you want to take to get to a final decision?” McConnell said in a recent interview.

Exactly! So if Democrats just declared the impeachment done – both sides win!

This is a great country.

Ross: Are we killing car culture? Or is car culture killing the US?

I don’t think the question is whether we're going to "kill" our car culture. The real question is can we stop our car culture from killing the U.S.?
