Can’t stuff one more shoe box in your recycling bin? Leftover potatoes stinking up your fridge? You might have to wait a day or two before you see the big garbage or recycling trucks come pick up your waste.
Most pickup schedules are delayed one day. For example, if Thursday is your typical garbage/recycling day, you won’t see the trucks until Friday. Many services are doing a pickup on Saturday to catch up. This same schedule applies to New Year’s week, as well.

If you just need to get out of the house, maybe visit “the dump.” Many transfer stations accept cardboard and paper free of charge.
Find Waste Management locations in Woodinville, South Seattle, and Auburn. Get directions and restrictions here.
Find Snohomish County locations.
Find Pierce County locations.
Gift wrap can be recycled, unless it includes foil, along with flattened boxes. You can put your Christmas tree in your yard waste. Flocked trees are not accepted and must be thrown in the garbage.
Happy cleanup day.
