Doug Baldwin discloses divide in Seahawks locker room, but it isn’t what you’d think

After all the reports and rumors about problems in the Seahawks locker room and whether Russell Wilson is “black enough,” wide receiver Doug Baldwin is out to set the record straight.
Baldwin spilled the dirt on what’s really going on to 710 ESPN’s The Barbershop show.
He admits there is a divide created by Wilson, but it isn’t what anybody would think.
“You know, he posed the question has Popeye’s or KFC got better chicken? And there’s been a divide in the locker room about who’s got the better chicken,” Baldwin jokes.
As for Baldwin, he tells The Barbershop he’s actually on the outside because he favors Church’s Chicken himself.
But all kidding aside, Baldwin says all the talk about reports some unnamed players don’t think Russell Wilson is black enough are absurd.
“There’s nothing more ridiculous to me than questioning somebody’s blackness,” Baldwin says. “Let’s be honest, there’s not a group of Caucasian people or Asian people asking themselves ‘Is Russell Wilson black enough?’ So I think the issue that we really have to resolve here is the people who are asking these questions. They need to ask, why am I asking these questions?”
Baldwin also dispelled any notion of divisions or strife in the locker room, and hopes the talk can turn back to football.
“We’re a set of relationships aimed at accomplishing a singular goal and everybody’s on board with that,” he says.
With a tough win over Carolina under their belts following two straight losses, Baldwin says he’s confident the tide has turned and the Seahawks will be fine.
“Everything’s good. Obviously you’re going to go through some ups and downs throughout the season, but that’s just football. That’s the way the game’s played, so we’re not worried about it.”
