Giving back to those on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis, Lizzo sent lunch to workers at UW Medicine’s Montlake Emergency Department on Monday.

“You guys are heroes, and so the least I could do is send you some lunch,” the three-time Grammy Award-winning singer said on social media.

This came as part of an bid from Lizzo to send lunches to health workers at seven hospitals across the U.S., from Nashville to Seattle. In an Instagram post detailing the plan, she also encouraged fans to donate to the COVID-19 Response Fund, which raises money for the World Health Organization to send aid to patients and frontline workers.

“I hope that you feel loved and appreciated, because you really, truly are — thank you once again from the bottom of my heart,” said Lizzo.

Sending words of thanks to Lizzo was Gov. Jay Inslee.

“Turns out (Lizzo) is 100% that generous to Washington’s health care workers,” he quipped on Twitter. “We appreciate you.”

In the days ahead, she plans to send to food to more hospitals as well, per her publicist in a report published by The Seattle Times.

Lizzo last performed in Seattle at 2019’s Capitol Hill Block Party. She was slated to perform at Bumbershoot two months later, but was forced to cancel her appearance after developing a serious sinus infection that prevented her from flying.
