As predicted by Dr. Anthony Fauci, the virus is back. Turns out it’s really contagious! Who knew! Turns out you can make up Chinese names for it, but it still infects Americans!

And now the projections are showing that by October, the spread will once again be exponential, just in time for the Presidential debates.

That will likely feature the candidate with the mask versus the candidate without. Batman versus Superman. Suddenly it’s all about the masks.

The mask is the Red Baseball Cap in reverse – you prove how American you are by not wearing it, because no true American lets the government tell us how to live our lives!

Then there’s other side which looks upon the un-masked face as an un-holstered gun firing nano-bullets with every exhaled breath. They’re ready to change the national motto to “Don’t Breathe On Me!” They’ll look at your un-masked face as if you forgot your pants.

I would like to offer some advice here, but I’ve learned that no one wants advice, even from people who know what they’re talking about, so I will limit myself to a couple of observations.

Number one, the shutdown was so painful, no politician this close to an election is going to issue a new stay-at-home order.

And number two, when the next stay-at-home order does come, it will come from the virus itself, which doesn’t care how we vote, what we think, where we shop, how often we pray, and whether our affairs are in order.

Ross: Are we killing car culture? Or is car culture killing the US?

I don’t think the question is whether we're going to "kill" our car culture. The real question is can we stop our car culture from killing the U.S.?
